Use case

A decision log that keeps itself current from your meetings, emails and documents

Korvu reads your recordings, emails and documents into one page per project, so each decision, owner and date on it links to the passage it came from.

The problem

Decisions are made in a call, repeated in an email and changed in a document. A decision log kept by hand is only as current as the last person who updated it, and nobody can say where a line came from.

How a decision gets from a source to the record

  1. You add a source to a project: a recording, a PDF or Word document, a Markdown file or pasted text.
  2. Korvu reads it and updates the project's current state: what was decided, who owns it and when it is due.
  3. Every line on the page opens onto its source, the passage, page or timestamp it came from.

What waits for your review

When a new source reverses a decision, changes an owner or moves a date, Korvu does not overwrite the record. It holds the change for your review, beside what it would replace and with the passage behind it, until you apply or dismiss it.

What you can look back on

The record keeps what a change replaced. You can see what the page said before, what it says now and the source that moved it.

Asking the record

You can ask the project a question, such as what was decided about a launch date, and the answer points to the passage it comes from.

Questions

What is a decision log?
A decision log is a dated record of what a project decided, who owns it and when it is due.
Why not keep a decision log by hand?
A log kept by hand is only current when someone updates it, and its lines rarely say which meeting, email or document they came from.
What sources can Korvu read into a decision log?
Recordings, PDF and Word documents, Markdown and pasted text.
How do I know a decision on the page is right?
Every line links to the passage, page or timestamp it came from, so you can check it against the source.
What happens when a decision changes?
Korvu holds a changed decision, owner or date for your review instead of overwriting it.
